‘1. Greeks take their time’ was the first reason social site Buzzfeed gave to love Greece. The list – that is just shy of 50 – features 49 reasons to love Greece and was posted by community member Alexander Besant with this in his mind: “After a few tough years, Greece is resurgent once again.”
They party like no other race, they are passionate and they “let moments linger” are some of the characteristics Greeks have that make them so lovable. But the landscape, specifically the beaches, featured highly in the list. So did the food, the coffee and the beer. The nightlife and lifestyle of Athens – including the suburb of Exarchia – also made the list. And the ancient Greeks got a mention too, of course, as well as democracy.
