To celebrate the Australia Day long weekend, the Australasian Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) has organised a public picnic on the Mornington Peninsula.

The event will take place on Sunday 28 January (10.00 am – 5.00 pm) in Rye (at 480 Browns Road) and the organisation is planning a Greek feast with all the traditional delicacies, while music and dancing will also be in order.

Tickets to the child-friendly celebration are $20 (for adults) and $10 (for children) and proceeds are going to Fronditha aged care facilities, with the target of gathering $50,000 to help fund the purchase of a minibus for Fronditha Care’s Clayton nursing home for excursions and day trips.

For more information, call AHEPA’s state president Sofie Mercoulia on 0425 725 237 or state secretary Spiros Rombotis on 0432 766 409.
