Currently in Turkey to commemorate the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign, the prime minister took the opportunity to meet with the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church.
Residing in Istanbul, Tony Abbott met with His Holiness Bartholomew I, stating on his Facebook page that he was “honoured” to have the chance to meet with him.
Whilst in Turkey, the PM also took the opportunity to visit the Blue Mosque, chat to locals and meet with other Australians present for the Anzac Day services.
