Reports in Greece are linking Aston Villa with a move for PAOK striker Stefanos Athansiadis, the Birmingham Mail reports.

The 28-year-old has been at PAOK for his entire career, save for a season on loan at Panserraikos, and though his goals-to-games ratio across that period of time is encouraging, he failed to score a single league goal last season.

Greek international striker Athansiadis has scored more than 100 goals in over 300 appearances for PAOK and Villa boss Steve Bruce is believed to be a fan.

The attacking options in the claret and blue squad’s current line-up are Scott Hogan, Gabby Agbonlahor, Ross McCormack, and the returning Jonathan Kodjia, who is making his way back from an ankle injury sustained at Blackburn at the back end of last season.

John Terry and Sam Johnstone remain the only arrivals at B6 so far this season.
