Ergotelis has become the third team to be relegated from this season’s Super League after its home loss to Kerkyra on Monday, while PAS Giannina found out on Tuesday it is not eligible to enter the play-offs for a spot in next season’s European competitions due to financial irregularities.

Kerkyra defeated Ergotelis 2-1 at Iraklio to stay up and send the Cretan club down the same road as fellow Iraklio teams OFI and Niki Volou.

PAS Giannina failed to get a licence to play in Europe next season as the appeal it had made against the original decision to exempt it from the play-off process was rejected.

Consequently, if PAS ends up fifth in the regular season, it will have to relinquish its spot in the play-offs to the team to finish sixth, which now is Atromitos with two games left to play.

This is the second time in three years PAS has suffered the same fate.
