Violinist and musical maestro Roger Young, from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, was just nine when he fell in love with James Bond, or rather, John Barry’s film scores for the Bond movies.

Roger’s love for the films’ music has inspired him to present Bond and Beyond, a concert based solely on the Bond music, that will hit Fed Square’s Deakin Edge on Tuesday July 15 at 8.00 pm.

Bond and Beyond sets out to celebrate and reinterpret the music that has always been a defining feature of the James Bond series, featuring the memorable tracks that accompanied the films of the psychedelic sixties through to the driving grooves and ballads of the present day.

The concert will showcase some of Melbourne’s most talented classical and jazz musicians. Five string players from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the talents of David Jones on drums, vocal sensation Sarah McDonald, world renowned master drummer David Jones and pianist Hue Blanes.
Amongst five string players from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be Greek Australian viola player Sophie Kesoglidis, famous for her sellout musical Tango’s Violin.

The concert is on 15 July at 8.00 pm, at Deakin Edge, Federation Square. For more information visit www.theartfulroger.com.au
