English Premier League giant Chelsea is reportedly set to play a friendly match against the A-League’s Sydney FC in June after their season concludes.

Fairfax Media reports that a deal for the match on June 2 at Sydney’s Olympic Stadium has been agreed to in principle and could be publicly announced next week.

The match could be a champion versus champion face-off, with Chelsea heavy favourites to win the EPL title, while Sydney FC are in contention to win the local league.

Chelsea will be here only a week after fellow EPL side Tottenham Hotspur, who also meet Sydney FC at the Olympic Stadium on May 30.

It is a winter feast this year for Australian soccer fans, with three other huge international clubs – Real Madrid, AS Roma and Manchester City – coming here in July to play a round-robin tournament in Melbourne.
