John Aniston, the Greek American actor that has graced our television screens as Victor Kiriakis in the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, could be set to mark three decades with the soap. The actor says he’s not leaving the TV show any time soon.

Rumours have been circulating that the 80-year-old actor is set to retire, but he told Soap Opera Digest that he plans on staying to meet the milestone next year.

He first hit the screen in 1985 on the NBC drama, which has been a popular daytime soap in Australia for the same amount of time. In 1986, he received double honours as Outstanding Leading Actor and as Outstanding Villain at The Third Annual Soap Opera Awards for his portrayal of the Greek character.
