Property owners who have failed to pay any instalments of the emergency property tax (EETA) that is levied via electricity bills face the risk of being classified as debtors to the state and fined accordingly, Greece’s largest power company said this week.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Public Power Corporation (PPC) said debtors’ names will be forwarded to the Finance Ministry as stipulated by law.

July 25 is the deadline for meeting any outstanding debts, the statement said.
