The Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (EECV) is urging Greek Australians and all Victorians to participate in this year’s cultural diversity week, held between the 14 and 22 March.

A number of sporting, community and festival events will be on offer, including the famous Viva Victoria festival on March 22 at Federation Square.
EECV chairperson Mr Eddie Micallef urges every Victorian to partake in this year’s events.

“Celebrate what makes Victoria such a unique and rich place to live in,” he says.

The theme of this year’s events is ‘Strengthening Our Community’, which Mr Micallef sees as imperative for further promoting harmony and social cohesion in our society.

In addition to the event’s theme, cultural diversity week will also coincide with the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21. Australia will celebrate Harmony Day on the same day.
