Earlwood Wanderers FC Under 10/3s were eager to avenge two years of losses against their Southern NSW cousins, Kiama Junior FC and did so in phenomenal fashion last weekend.

The Greek sponsored team, coached by Theo Fotopoulos and Andrew Pappas, got their win, with a huge 6-1 scoreline to boot.

The little ones initially struggled to adapt to the full-sized pitch, but settled well to keep the goals coming. Their mixed team opponent made use of a defensive break and got one goal through, but were clearly dominated for most of the match.

Jamie Warren, chair of the Johnny Warren Football Foundation (JWFF) and nephew of the late Johnny Warren, was on hand to congratulate both teams and give the certificates to the young players and coaching staff.

The Johnny Warren Challenge has grown this year to include two exhibition matches, with over 50 players competing.

The annual post-season exhibition match series raises awareness about the late Johnny Warren and his national contribution to football.
