The European Court of Human Rights condemned Greece for the treatment of an asylum seeker and an illegal migrant who arrived in the country as a minor.

Greece was ordered to pay 6,500 euros in damages to an Iranian national who arrived in Greece in November 2010.

The court found that the asylum seeker suffered inhuman and degrading treatment at the Soufli and Ferres border posts.

The government will also have to pay 8,500 euros to an Iraqi man who arrived in Greece in 2010 while he was still 17.

The court found that the he was incorrectly detained and that the conditions at Soufli border post were degrading.
