With Australia’s youth considered to be more mobile and culturally diverse than ever before, the University of Melbourne has launched Multicultural Youth (MY) Australia, the first national platform for current research and resources about multicultural young people.

They are now running the first longitudinal nation-wide study of Australia’s multicultural youth, with the online survey open to Australians aged between 15 and 25 years.

The data collected will be used to develop an annual report on the status of multicultural youth across the country and will help the community and government better understand the challenges being faced, including discrimination, intergenerational conflict and economic insecurity.

By drawing on what is sure to be insightful research, policymakers and organisations who work with young, diverse people will look to develop better policies and programmes to enrich lives and contribute to social cohesion.
