All bank accounts and assets belonging to Greek tycoon Fotis Bobolas have been frozen following an order from financial crimes prosecutor Panayiotis Athanasiou earlier this week.

The order was issued pending an ongoing investigation into suspected tax evasion, with reports suggesting a discrepancy of some €30 million over several years.

It comes just a few days after criminal charges were brought against Bobolas, employees of his media group company Pegasus, and three major Greek banks as reported by Kathimerini.

The banks have allegedly granted Pegasus some €160 million in loans in 2006 and in the period between 2013 and 2014 without adequate guarantees and have allowed the loans to remain unserviced.
