Graham Arnold joked that perhaps Steven Gerrard might consider playing a guest stint for Sydney FC, but it was worthwhile putting the idea out there.

At 35, Gerrard admits all options are open to him as he considers what comes after his time in the MLS with LA Galaxy, but an opportunity to play in the A-League has never been presented to him.

“I’ve never had that offer, so there’s no point talking about it,” he said. “For all the doors that are open to me in the future I’ll never say never to any of them. I’ll have to see what the future holds.”

The Liverpool legend has spent the MLS off season training at his former club and learning from new coach Jurgen Klopp.

There’s been talk he may even re-sign with Liverpool after holding talks with Klopp, but either way Gerrard says he will always be part of Liverpool in some capacity.
