Othello Hunter led Olympiakos to a precious 69-61 away win over Unicaja Malaga in Spain on Friday in its opening game for the top-16 of the Euroleague.

Hunter scored 18 points and collected seven rebounds against an error-prone Unicaja that was a shadow of the team that a few days earlier had defeated Real Madrid for the Spanish league.

After the first few minutes Olympiakos held on to the lead, as it was two points ahead after the first quarter (14-12) and three at half-time (32-29).

The Reds continued strong into the second half and stretched their lead to nine (61-52) in the fourth quarter. The hosts could not get any closer than within five points (66-61).

The Greeks won by eight in the end, through a three-pointer from captain Vassilis Spanoulis. The Greek guard had a double-double as he notched up 11 points and distributed 10 assists in Spain.
