Greece had the perfect warm-up for the World Basketball Championships later this month with wins over Germany, Russia and Croatia on Cyprus.

The national side secured the Love Cyprus Basketball Tournament with a 90-81 win over Croatia on Sunday.

Greece had beaten Germany 82-54 in their first game on Friday and Russia 101-63 in the second game on Saturday.

Nick Calathes was impressive in the Croatia game, notching up 22 points and nine assists in the absence of Vassilis Spanoulis.

Yiannis Bourousis led the scoring against Germany with 17 points and Antonis Fotsis, the team’s captain, was the top scorer against the Russians with 20, including four 3-pointers.

Fotsis also scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers, in the final game against Croatia to round off an impressive tournament.
