The European Court of Human Rights ordered Greece to pay a total of 82,600 euros in compensation to five applicants who filed complaints with regard to the conditions of their detention in Korydallos, Larissa and Diavata prisons.

The applicants, Greece’s Vassilis Bouros, Christodoulos Giatzoglidis and Michail Gavriilidis, Romanian national Giorgos Pourselantzei and Bulgarian national Stefan Dimitrov, cited overcrowding, poor hygiene and a lack of furniture and heating at the correctional facilities.

The European court found that their detention had been in violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.
