The Antipodean Palette Group Exhibition by the Greek Australian Cultural League will be organised during August 2016, and is inviting artists to submit their works.

In its sixth year, the Antipodean Palette has become an annual highlight celebrating the diverse works of artists within the Greek Australian community and an important forum to present and discuss works influenced by our two cultures.

The exhibition will be held at Steps Gallery, 62 Lygon Street, Carlton from August 16-23. The gallery will be open Monday to Friday from 10.00 am-4.00 pm, and during the weekend from 11.00 am-3.00 pm. Opening night will take place on Τuesday 16 August at 6.30 pm.

Artists are invited to submit their entries for the exhibition online, anytime between now and the end of April.

Meanwhile, the 62nd issue of the literary periodical Antipodes is set to be launched οn Sunday 16 October, and is also calling for submissions by GACL members and non-members alike.

The issue will be dedicated to the life and work of eminent diasporan poet Dimitris Tsaloumas, and will publish poems, short stories, studies, essays, book reviews and οther literary works in Greek and English as well as visual arts projects.

Submissions must be original works that have not been published or promoted in another publication.

Literary works should be no longer than the limits prescribed as follows:
– Poems: 100 verses (lines)
– Short stories and essays: 2,000 words
– Meditations: 800 words
– Studies: 2,000 words
– Reviews (books, exhibitions, music, plays, films): 1,000 words

Works that exceed the specified size limits will be rejected without involving the editorial committee.

The deadline for submitting contributions for the magazine is 24 June, 2016.
