English Premier League giant Arsenal has signed Greek German youth international Georgios Spanoudakis. The 15-year-old was a student of Barcelona’s youth team (before he was signed) and has featured in Germany’s youth international squad.

The Greek-born German follows a considerable list of players who have made the switch from Barcelona’s youth team to north London – the most notable being former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who now plays for Chelsea.

Spanoudakis joined the Catalan side in 2009 and is eligible to represent Greece at an international level, but has stated that he would prefer to play for Germany if the opportunity arose.

The left-footer will feature in Arsenal’s under 18 side for the 2014-15 season and is said to have potent passing and technical ability.
