The Greek sailing Paralympian team is asking for some assistance in setting themselves up in Victoria before the IFDS Disabled Sailing Combined World Championships on November 24 to December 3.

The event is one of two qualifying events for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Sailing Competition and will be crucial in securing Greece’s place in the world event.

The highly-experienced team is hoping to secure some accommodation and access to two sonar yachts to help them train and compete while in Australia.

Already the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria is constricted by the competition and is all out of yachts, which is why the team is hoping any members of the Greek Australian community might be able to come to the rescue.

One of the Paralympian’s family members in Australia has been trying to garner support for the team, and is taking any offers of assistance, whether it be accommodation or access to loan yachts.

People who would like to contribute can contact team member Nicolaos Paterakis in Greece on landline: 210 9609218 or mobile: 6944 354405.
