Greek politicians from around the globe assemble in Athens
Politicians of Greek background from around the globe met last week in Athens.
The World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association held its 7th General Meeting between July 29 and August 1, hosting 220 current and former Parliamentarians of Greek descent from 26 different countries.
Participants from Australia include amongst others Federal MPs Maria Vamvakinou, Steve Georganas and Victorian MPs Theo Theophanous, John Pandazopoulos and Nick Kotsiras.
Members of the Association will have a chance to exchange views with Greek counterparts and discuss Hellenic national issues and explore common points of understanding and action.
On the last day of the General Meeting it was expected for the Association to elect its new Board.
