An ode to the female figure, worn by celebrities all over the world, but always at a reasonable cost. Australian label BOSSA, founded and run by two cousins, Connie Dritsas and Charissa Trikos, has been making headlines over the past two years.

As Connie reveals to Neos Kosmos, it all started as a tiny spark of an idea over customary hot chocolate dates between two best friends every Tuesday night in the icy Melbourne winter of 2014. From a teeny, tiny bedroom office to a killer HQ and an entourage of illustrious international stockists, the label quickly found worldwide recognition and a cult following of celebrity ‘IT Girls’ like the Kardashians and their top model friends, famous performers and Hollywood movie stars.

“BOSSA walks the tantalising line of sultry yet chic, and if we had to break it down for you, we’re all about classic, on-trend colour palettes full of our favourite nudes and neutrals, vibed in with sleek, sexy designs, either dripping in crystals or slaying in silk.
“We create with every intention to impress,” she emphasises. “Our goal was not just to put amazing clothes out there, but to create a lifestyle to go with it.”

At just 25, Connie and Charissa feel blessed their dream took off almost immediately, opening a path to international success and offering them the chance to pursue further projects.

“We were approached by the Kardashians’ stylist personally and were informed that Kim, Kourtney and Khloe were big fans of the brand and were interested in stocking our brand in all three of their DASH stores. After this major outreach,” Connie admits, “we were able to build strong networks in the US industry.”

Their first worldwide successful design and overall success stems from when Kylie Jenner wore the ‘Hustle’ bomber jacket. The demand grew from this point onwards for Connie and Charissa to style more and more celebrities with their creations.

“We always had big plans for BOSSA and we have worked really hard to get to where it is today − however, we never imagined it would be so successful so quickly.”

Having both studied fashion design at university, they are excited to be running a thriving international company, holding pristine spots at highly-recognised stores the likes of DASH, NastyGal and Kyle by Alene Too. They still design everything themselves and have it made offshore.

“Our lives have changed drastically since the brand has become a success, as we really feel like we are living our dream,” she says.

“We have opportunities to travel overseas for business and ultimately create a lifestyle brand for our market to follow.”

With their designs being stocked in 31 stores around the world, the girls have now achieved their ultimate goal, to debut a current collection on the runway at New York Fashion Week.

“We recently travelled to New York City in early September to launch our latest upcoming collection, ‘IT GIRL’, at New York Fashion Week. From there we received an overwhelming response from the US market.
“We also shot a campaign featuring Sports Illustrated model Tanya Mityushina and E!‘s WAGS star and model Nicole Williams.”

The cousins’ next-level campaign shoots fully embody the luxe lifestyle of the everyday BOSSA girl, which is all about “those pristine manicures, a handbag for every day of the week and hoppin’ out the Range with your best foot forward in head-to-toe BOSSA”, yet − as the two of them stress − always affordable.
