The annual Macedonian Glendi is back again for another year and will have the Greek Australian community coming from far and wide for a taste of the motherland. Held on the corner of Atherton Road and Eaton Mall, on Sunday November 16 from 12 noon – 9.00 pm, the Glendi will cap off the 2014 Dimitria Festival celebrations.

Organised by the Pan Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria, all are welcome to attend the festival, which aims to showcase the rich Greek-Macedonian cultural heritage through folkloric dancing and Macedonian traditional food.

Politicians from both sides of politics will open the festivities on Sunday, whilst the president of the Pan Macedonian Union, Dimitrios Dolis, will address the crowd, alongside secretary Nikos Lalopoulos, the Consul General for Greece in Melbourne, Christina Simantirakis and the mayor of the Monash City Council, Geoff Lake.

Among other things, those keen to learn more about Macedonian culture will be able to take part in a Greek cooking masterclass, and taste some of the best the region has to offer.
