One of the top selling female vocalists of all time, with fans in every corner of the globe, the beloved ‘White Rose of Athens’ Nana Mouskouri will return to Australia in April 2015 for a series of exclusive concerts.

The much-loved world famous singer, who has sold over 300 million CDs, is coming to Australia as part of her world tour where she has been celebrating her 80th birthday as well as the composers and writers who inspired her singing throughout the years. Nana Mouskouri turns 80 on October 13.

“It is a pleasure to be able to bring the unique Nana Mouskouri back to Australian audiences; she is an enormous talent with her soaring voice and distinctive look. She is still among the top 10 best-selling artists in the world and still travels to sell out performances all around the world. Nana Mouskouri belongs to a select group of performers that have remained at the top for decades. She can still do what she has always done best – sing songs that a lot of people love very well. This is a chance for all Australians to come and see her and celebrate this visit,” One World Entertainment director, Andrew McManus said.

Renowned for her never-ending farewells, it is as if Mouskouri wants to thank each fan of hers personally. World tour after world tour, song after song, album after album, Nana Mouskouri never seems to age or to want to call it a day in a career that has flourished continuously since 1959.

Her audiences have come to know her as ‘The White Rose of Athens’, the song she refers to as ‘my passport’ as it was this song, recorded for a German documentary back in 1961, that first won her international acclaim.

This is Mouskouri’s first tour of Australia since 2005.

Having recorded songs in many languages, including Greek, French, English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Welsh and Turkish, Nana Mouskouri appears on the list of the twenty-five best-selling artists in the world, ahead of Madonna and Celine Dion.

In a career spanning many decades, 2014 marks 50 years since the Greek singer worked with legendary songwriter Harry Belafonte and had her first on stage appearance.

Mouskouri will perform in Brisbane on 9 April (for tickets, call Qtix 136 246); in Sydney on 12 April (Ticketmaster 136 100); in Melbourne on 14 April (Ticketmaster 136 100); in Adelaide on 16 April (BASS 131 246); in Perth on 19 April (Ticketek 132 849).
