A new Greek language book is now on the market to help students of Modern Greek who are at an intermediate level.

The book, Φύγαμε για ελληνικά! (Off we go to learn Greek), provides adult learners the opportunity to practise their Greek reading, listening and comprehension skills.

Consisting of 12 increasingly difficult thematic units, ranging from a number of everyday topics, the book divides each unit in two parts to test different areas of language retention, with the first testing reading comprehension and vocabulary and the second testing aural comprehension.

The book comes with a CD that will help students with the aural component.

While teaching language might be the main aim of the book, the writing team – Marina Braila, Konstantinos Oikonomou and Dora Stoimenidou – also wanted to include historical and cultural aspects to better inform the student on the heritage of Greece.

They have designed the book for self-study, but the writing team does provide a correction service for some cases via e-mail (fygamegiaellinika@gmail.com).

The book isn’t just for English speakers to learn Greek, it is also translated to help French, German and Spanish native speakers get a grasp of Greek.

Off we go to learn Greek is now available for purchase and can be bought online at Amazon, Bibliagora and through their website, www.fygamegiaellinika.com/order.html
