Barcelona has announced that Dutch international Ibrahim Allefay will join Greek champion Olympiakos on a year long loan – with the option of extending the deal by two years.

Allefay has made 35 appearances for the Catalan club, with his contracting expiring next European summer.

He was brought in to the Legend to replace outgoing Joel Campbell, who was on loan from English Premier League club Arsenal.

Shortly after his signing, Allefay spoke to Olympiakos TV, relaying his excitement at joining the club.

“I feel great! Since I first learned that Olympiakos wish to sign me, I felt great enthusiasm and I am happy to be here now!”

“Olympiakos is a great team. It does not matter to me whether the club plays in the Champions League or not. It is a club that always aims at winning championships! I hope we will be able to achieve nice things in the coming season!”

The 28 year-old played two games for Barcelona last season.
