PAOK will continue its Super League domination when it takes on Athenian powerhouse Panathinaikos on Monday.

The Thessaloniki team showed it’s got what it takes to cement it’s position after it secured a 2-0 win against Ergotelis in Crete last Sunday. Thanks to striker Stefanos Athanasiadis who scored both goals, the Thessaloniki team is now in good stead to face tough games that includes second on the ladder Olympiakos early next month.

The Reds aren’t having the best of time with their Champions League blunder still feeling raw. Despite the advantage of facing a ten man Asteras Tripolis, Olympiakos weren’t able to rise to get the one up. Asteras’ forward Pablo Mazza received his second yellow card in the 42nd minute for allegedly play-acting, while the match ended in a 0-0 draw, relished by the Tripoli team.

Panathinaikos moved up to sixth position with a 2-0 win at home against Atromitos, while former ladder leader Veria dropped in points with a draw of 2-2 with Panionios.

Fans at Agrinio were thoroughly entertained, witnessing a seven goal match; somewhat making up for the other three goalless games last weekend in Volos, Komotini and Mytilene. Pentolikos won the game at home 5-2 against Xanthi, attacking midfielder Lucas Villafanez scoring twice.

On Monday, Veria are sure to feeling confident taking on second last placed Ergotelis, while Olympiakos come up against Panthrakikos.
