Ice skating power couple Gabrielle Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, ranked second in Free Dance Ice Skating at the PyeongChang Chang winter Olympics on Monday, despite facing an unexpected challenge. While presenting their routine, the top of Papadakis’ costume was unhooked and slipped, leaving the Greek-French skater exposed. “It was pretty distracting, kind of my worst nightmare happening at the Olympics,” said Papadakis, after the incident. “I told myself: ‘I don’t have a choice. I have to keep going.’ And that’s what we did. I think we can be proud of ourselves being able to deliver a great performance with that happening.”

The skater gracefull tried to cover her exposed breast, whenever the choreography permitted, while her partner used his own body as a cover in other times. NBC, which broadcast the event were quick to spare Papadakis from the embarrassment. “Once a competitor’s brief wardrobe issue became evident, we purposely used wider camera shots and carefully selected replays to keep the issue obscured,” stated the US broadcater. Despite this mishap, Papadakis and Cizeron received a score of 81.93 points that left them second behind Canadian superstar couple of Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who won the gold medal with a score of 83.67 points, ending their long-run career of olympic excellence on a high note.
