Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou is imploring his team to trust his judgement and play as a unit, not breaking formation.

Goalkeeper Mat Ryan says after the World Cup, the coach is training the players to adapt to training as a unit.

“(Postecoglou) wants us to have more belief in the system and those sorts of things,” Ryan told FFA.com.au

“We all tried to buy into it but it’s not until you get the regular games where you can make mistakes in terms of learning what he really wants from us in every situation.

“You can’t help but think if we had had another 12 months together as a team (before the World Cup) how different things could have been.”

Playing Belgium tomorrow, the Socceroos are in for a very tough match.

They will come up against a near-full strength Belgium squad brimming with English Premier League talent.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Chelsea star Eden Hazard and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku were all included as were four players excluded from the World Cup squad.

Ange Postecoglou has had to replace Greek Australian Terry Antonis in his squad with Mark Bresciano after the 20-year-old suffered a hamstring injury playing for Sydney FC.

The Socceroos face World No. 5 Belgium in Liege on 4 September before a clash with Saudi Arabia in London on 8 September.
