As part of this year’s Sydney Greek Festival, Professor George Paxinos will be launching his first novel.

The book, titled In His Image (Κατ’ Εικόνα), follows a geneticist and amateur archaeologist as they make a formidable discovery.

The result leads to the birth of identical twins, who are separated and end up going through life without the knowledge of each other’s existence.

Eventually the pair rediscover one another in the Amazon, only to lose each other again.

The book will be launched on Wednesday 9 March at the Greek Community Club by Sydney University’s Professor Vrasidas Karalis.

Professor Paxinos is author and co-author of 46 books in his field, including (with Charles Watson) The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates, the third most cited scientific book of all time.

He is also a member of the Australian Academy of Science and corresponding member of the Academy of Athens, and in 2015 received the NSW Premier’s Prize for Excellence in Medical Biological Sciences.

The launch will take place on Wednesday 9 March at the Greek Community Club, 206-210 Lakemba Street, Lakemba, NSW at 7.00 pm. For more information, call (02) 9750 0440 or email greekfestival@goc.com.au
