The tourist season in Greece is entering its off-peak phase, but this doesn’t mean that there are less tourists visiting popular destinations during the Greek autumn months.

Anyone planning to visit Greece in October should know that all archaeological sites have adjusted their opening hours to the shorter days, which means that they close at sunset.

This occurs every autumn for security purposes. According to the Ministry of Culture, “all the organised archaeological sites that operate with the extended hour schedule, as well as the museums that are part of them, the opening hours for September will be from 8.00 am until 7.00 pm, and from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm in October.”
