While Premier Mike Rann and Opposition Leader Isobel Redmond were not ready to claim victory or defeat on Saturday night in the South Australia election, it was clear that Labor had is ahead in the counting of votes and will win the election.

Labor was hanging on in some marginal seats, and Ms Redmond, told her supporters at Liberal headquarters “I’m not conceding yet”.

The swing of about 7 percent to the Liberals has been far from uniform.

Mr Rann appeared at ALP headquarters beaming. In response to the swing against his government he said, “We will reconnect with the people of this state.”

Tom Koutsantonis held his seat of West Torrens while Liberal, Maria Kourtesis may still take the District of Bright.

The Fair Land Tax party represented by a number of Greek Australians came out worse for wear.

While there was muted expectations that the FLT may secure a candidate in the Senate most of the candidates recorded low votes, ranging from 45 at lowest to 305 at the higher end.
