The Great Ayrton Senna left quite an impression on fans in Australia, even if he only appeared nine times in the Adelaide Grand Prix.

May 1 marked the anniversary of his tragic death 20 years ago. Senna, widely regarded as the greatest racing driver of all time, died when his car careered off
the Imola track in the early stages of the San Marino Grand Prix on May 1, 1994.

He debuted in Australia in 1986 at the Adelaide Grand Prix, and went on to race consecutively until 1993. He won the race for the first time in 1991 after numerous technical difficulties forced him to retire in the 80s.
