The Hawthorn Spartans have picked up from their premiership winning season last year and have started training every Wednesday night at their new grounds at Alphington Grammar.
The team is now getting ready to come up against much tougher opponents after being promoted to division one of the VAFA cup, and will be taking on a couple of pre-season matches to get season ready.
