The facade of Christmas is one of joy and happiness; however, for many the lead up to the festive season can be very stressful.

But this year that doesn’t have to be the case thanks to the Food For Thought Greek Australian Women’s Network, whose final presentation for 2014 will be dedicated to the topic ‘Reduce and manage your stress this Christmas’.

Taking place at the recently opened Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture, the guest speaker of the night will be acclaimed author and academic Dr Angelo Rodafinos.

With experience in general, applied, social, and work psychology, those attending will have the opportunity to receive practical suggestions on managing excessive stress, preventing physical and emotional exhaustion, in addition to exploring behavioural and cognitive techniques to improve wellbeing.

All proceeds from the night will go towards assisting year 12 student Maree Skalistis in her endeavour to represent Victoria at the United Nations, where she will have the opportunity to voice her views about human rights at The Hague in January 2015.

Set to be an interesting evening of learning, fast networking and contributing to a worthwhile cause, everyone is welcome to attend the event.

‘Reduce and manage your stress this Christmas’ will take place on Tuesday 2 December at the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture, 168 Lonsdale Street Melbourne from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Tickets are $35. To enquire, call Varvara Ioannou on 0403 034 527, Alexandra Megas on 0438 660 301 or email info@fftn.org.au
