Celebrity chef George Calombaris is one step closer to taking his Jimmy Grants chain Australia-wide thanks to an investment from Swisse vitamins chief executive Radek Sali.

According to the Australian Financial Review, the CEO set up a $250 million investment fund which has bought a third stake of the eatery.

The report further cited the chain’s plans to expand beyond Melbourne’s five outlets, to between 20 and 40, along with the potential development of an international presence.

“It feels like a three year kind of time-frame to get it where we want to be in Australia. Then we’ll be looking to international territories,” Mr Sali told Fairfax Media.
“We believe there is a significant opportunity.”

The doors of Melbourne’s first Jimmy Grants outlet were opened in 2013 by Calombaris and his business partner George Sykiotis, offering a modern take on Greek street food such as souvlaki and grain salads.
