The Brisbane Film Society will be screening the Nikos Koundouros 1956 classic The Ogre of Athens (Ο Δράκος) as their last film of the year.

The film follows a timid, insignificant bank clerk who is mistaken for a notorious criminal and becomes a wanted man.

He finds refuge in an underworld cabaret club where he is adopted as a charismatic leader by a gang about to commit a daring robbery. One of the all-time greats of Greek cinema, this film-noir analyses psychological and political themes.
