A panel of distinguished academics and experts aims to unpack the complex issues arising from the Syrian refugee crisis on Monday 9 May at Melbourne’s Greek Centre.
The round table members will analyse the causes of the humanitarian emergency, the constant changing of conflict dynamics, the impact on non-combatants as well as the response from Europe and Greece.
In addition, they will assess the recent EU deal with Turkey as a means of stopping the refugee flows from war inflicted nations, which, according to the UNHCR, in 2015 reached an estimated 15.1 million worldwide, its highest level in 20 years.
