Kill Bill star Uma Thurman will take on the role of Greek goddess Hera in The Mundane Goddess, a short film from Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street Productions.

The short film, in which Thurman portrays the Greek Queen of the Goddesses, is about the Greek gods living out mundane lives in the modern world and focuses on an unhappy Hera.

Things turn around for the Queen of Olympus when she decides to see a therapist as she deals with a less-than-average but boring life and has to put up with her husband, Zeus, and his oppressive behaviour as well as his infidelities.

Her therapist, seemingly sceptical that she is ‘Queen of the Greek Gods’, asks why she feels the way she does.

“I do not feel like I am Hera, Queen of the Gods. I am Hera,” she says.

The short goes on as Hera discusses her feelings, and is shown in day-to-day activities. She is joined by other modern day goddesses, including Athena and Aphrodite.

Ultimately, Hera decides to resort to her jealous and vengeful ways, seeking revenge on those who cross her.
