Modern Greek students at the LOGOS Australian Centre for Hellenic Language and Culture will perform scenes from the Euripides drama, Trojan Women as part of the Aristotelian Society celebrations.

The society, made up of community members, groups and businesses who seek to preserve the Greek language and see it thrive will commemorate their work in a special celebration on October 22 in South Australia.

Presented by the LOGOS, the Pan Macedonian Association of South Australia and Flinders University, the celebration will be a chance to revisit the year’s achievements.

This year the LOGOS team welcomed Associate Professor Aspasia Hatzidakis and Associate Professor Giannis Spantidakis from the University of Crete for a special seminar and set up a Modern Greek program at Queensland’s Griffith Univeristy. The program is also offers 10 scholarships worth $10,000 each to study the language.

The LOGOS Centre for Hellenic Language and Culture was set up in 2011, and has received $600,000 worth of funding over four years from the South Australian Government and the Greek Government.

The online Modern Greek course is offered in South Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
