The internationally-acclaimed Tsahouridis Brothers who have brought the traditional sounds of the Pontic Lyra to the world stage, will take audiences on a unique musical journey when they tour Australia in November 2016.

Accompanied by a six-piece orchestra, Mathaios and Konstantinos will perform four spectacular shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Matthaios Tsahouridis, undoubtedly the world’s finest exponent of the Pontic lyra, and his younger brother Konstantinos, renowned for his unique and versatile tenor voice, have enthralled audiences in Greece, Europe, Toronto and most recently LA with their mesmerising sounds and performances.

Their Body and Soul show is a unique musical expression combining world music, opera, soundtracks and Greek music, with a rich fusion of musical inspiration, tradition and invention from East and West, from Puccini, Tchaikovsky and Rodrigo to Hatzidakis and Kazantzidis.

Born in the northern Greek city of Veria, the musically gifted brothers have been performing since they were nine and first recorded at 14. After winning the Pan-Hellenic Prize of Traditional Music in the mid-90s, the brothers were awarded a scholarship by the Holy Bishopric of Veria to study at the prestigious Goldsmiths College, University of London.

They have since performed around the world, working with distinguished international and Greek artists and orchestras, including Sir John Tavener, Cat Stevens and composer Mimis Plessas, who introduced the duo to wider audience in Greece.

Proceeds from the Australian tour will be donated to The Hellenic Initiative Australia, for distribution to charities providing crisis relief to those in need in Greece.

Premium Ticket holders in all cities are invited to meet the brothers at concert after-party with wine and cheese. Tickets can be purchased online at www.tsahouridistour.com.au
