Born in Kastoria, Greece in 1986, alexquisite, aka Alexandros Kotoulas, graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2010 with a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Having spent six years in civil engineering, he realised he was not seeing his aesthetic improve, as there were no classes to accomplish that; however, he learned to curb his creativity by working under pressure. And it was his love for design that pushed him to change his direction.

After a year of intense art and design workshops under the guidance of Rania Emmanouilidou, Alexandros succeeded in gaining a place at the prominent Design Academy Eindhoven.

With four more years of studying at the Activity Department of the Academy, he gained experience at the leather goods department of Louis Vuitton Malletier, Paris.

Currently, the designer is working independently and is focused on products, materials and accessories with a rather minimalist, yet utilitarian twist.

Keen on subtle forms that exude simplicity, he has been dubbed a ‘soft designer’. He uses unique textures and soft materials, creating wearable pieces from sometimes unexpected items.

Even though Alexandros is often caught in a dilemma between expressing his untamed artistic flair and producing commercial items, he finds the challenge inspirational. He says the key is to “find the point between your original idea and the final execution in order for the product to satisfy both you and the clients”. But alexquisite, is the medium through which the deaigner aspires to always be able to express his ideas as unfiltered as possible, while being able to create innovative pieces in his own style.
