Olympiakos and Xanthi will likely be the pair to reach the final of the Greek Cup of 2015, after scoring away wins in the first leg of their semi-finals over second-tier opposition.

Facing Apollon Smyrnis at Rizoupoli, Olympiakos banished any thoughts of a major upset and won 3-0 thanks to a brace by Mathieu Dossevi and a goal by Franco Jara.

At no point in the game did host Apollon manage to challenge the dominance of the Greek champion, making the return leg in two weeks’ time a mere formality.

Xanthi is close to reaching its first ever cup final as it downed second-division Iraklis in Thessaloniki with a 1-0 score this week, courtesy of a goal by its in-form Brazilian Silva Cleyton.

Playing without its main goalkeeper Huanderson, its hero in the previous round against Panionios, Iraklis tried to level the score and will certainly be no pushover in the return leg two weeks later.
