The Hellenic Museum’s iconic Plaza Ballroom welcomes famous Greek singer and songwriter Yiannis Kotsiras on Saturday as he performs exclusively to celebrate the museum’s 10-year anniversary.

Kotsiras, who has given more than a thousand concerts worldwide and has released 14 albums, will be heading a fundraising gala dinner on Saturday evening, and, due to popular demand, will give a second concert on Sunday 7 May.

Attending the event will be guest of honour and newly appointed member of the Benaki Museum’s executive committee, acclaimed archaeologist and historian Dr George Manginis.

“It is in this capacity that I was introduced to the Hellenic Museum and all the remarkable work that has been achieved by its team over the past decade,” Dr Manginis said.

“For all of us at the Benaki Museum, our Melbourne sibling exemplifies a strong and fascinating partnership, physically halfway around the globe but very near in spirit indeed.”

All proceeds from the concert will go to supporting the Hellenic Museum’s exhibitions program.

Where: Plaza Ballroom at 191 Collins St, Melbourne, VIC
When: Sunday 7 May at 4.00 pm
