A powerful blast rocked the Kaminia area of Piraeus at around 3 in the afternoon on Sunday.

The explosion took place at the “Petrino” bar, on the corner of Aitolikou and Fokidos.

Authorities as well as bomb removal experts are already at the site of the explosion, conducting an investigation into what caused the destructive blast.

The explosion, which authorities believe was cause by home-made explosives, destroyed an entire wall of the “Petrino” bar and also caused extensive damage to nearby shops and parked cars.

The authorities are now looking into the reported sighting of two individuals wearing dark clothes, who were spotted leaving and as yet unknown package and then leaving on a motorcycle

Local sources have said that the explosion could be related to various debts the owner of the bar had acumulated, but this information has not been corroborated by official sources.
