The Greece-Australia Business Council has finally been established, aiming to promote and strengthen economic and commercial relations between the two countries. The Council will also aid Australian groups to expand their business activities across Europe through Greece, by proxy giving a much needed boost to the Greek economy.
The thus far excellent relations between Greece and Australia as well as the strong Greek presence in the country will play a decisive role in shaping the right and successful course of the Council.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Greece-Australia Business Council include: President Anthony Adamopoulos, Vice President Christos Folias, Secretary General Symeon Tsomokos, Treasurer Aine Michailidou and members Emmanuel Domazakis, Konstantinos Salonikis, Christina Sakellaridi, Panayiotis Tsakos, Evangelos Chrysafidis. Alternate members are Thanasis Lavidas and Anastasios Tzikas. Honorary president of the Council was named the Australian Ambassador to Greece, Mrs. Bloomfield.
The exact programs concerning the activities and actions of the Council is expected to be formally announced this coming September.
