Η σειρά των Σεμιναρίων Ελληνικής Ιστορίας και Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού άρχισε τον Μάρτιο, και θα λήξει στις 17 Νοεμβρίου.
Στόχος των Σεμιναρίων είναι από τη μια να καλύψουν την ιστορία του ελληνικού έθνους από την αρχαιότητα μέχρι τις ημέρες μας, και από την άλλη να αναφερθούν σε πτυχές του ελληνικού πολιτισμού, όπως αυτός διαμορφώθηκε στο πέρασμα των αιώνων.
Για να καταστεί δυνατή η παρακολούθηση των Σεμιναρίων από μέλη της δεύτερης και τρίτης γενιάς της παροικίας μας, αλλά και από άτομα μη ελληνικής καταγωγής, οι εισηγήσεις γίνονται στην αγγλική γλώσσα. Στη συζήτηση όμως που ακολουθεί γίνεται χρήση και της ελληνικής γλώσσας.
Τα Σεμινάρια διοργανώνονται υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Ορθόδοξης Κοινότητας Μελβούρνη και Βικτωρίας και του Προγράμματος Ελληνικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου La Trobe.
Τα Σεμινάρια γίνονται τις Πέμπτες, 7.00 μ.μ.-9.00 μ.μ., και η παρακολούθηση είναι ελεύθερη. Κάθε Πέμπτη γίνονται δύο εισηγήσεις πάνω σε θέματα που εμπίπτουν στην θεματική ενότητα που καλύπτεται κατά τη διάρκεια μιας συγκεκριμένης χρονικής περιόδου.
Από την Πέμπτη, 29 Σεπτεμβρίου μέχρι την Πέμπτη 17 Νοεμβρίου τα Σεμινάρια θα καλύψουν πτυχές από την Ελληνική Διασπορά, και από τις δραστηριότητες των Ελλήνων στην Αυστραλία.
