Fotinopoulos
stooges the young

From blood pressure to negative thoughts, NKEE’s ‘health news’ column has provided better value than Chris Fotinopoulos’ piece on self reflection (NKEE 01/06/09).

The recent studies by the Universities of Kansas and Texas found that negative thoughts are wiped out by planting more good thoughts.

The latest findings are consistent with what Dr. Caroline Leaf has reported on in her book ‘Who switched off my brain?’

As a brain researcher for 20 years, Leaf has written extensively on the forest of memory networks which exist on the outside of both sides of the brain. Our positive thoughts physically look like healthy trees in a forest whilst our negative thoughts resemble thorns!

Every time you re- visit a toxic thought in your memory, it causes the thorns to squirt up poison in the form of excess chemicals.

They in turn flow through your heart, blood and immune system.

Certain negative thoughts are unavoidable but others can be planted over by positive ones at the same memory location.

Classified as ‘faith based emotions’, Dr Leaf conducted laboratory tests which showed that repentance of sins and forgiveness towards others altered people’s neurocircuitry in just a few days.

Since forgiveness and repentance are a major part of Christian teaching, it’s not surprising that God has designed our brain and body to function better after we forgive and repent of our sins.

Just because Socrates drank poison doesn’t mean Fotinopoulos’ students deserve to have ‘fear based’ toxins squirted into their bloodstream.

Promoting the secular “good life” is unhealthy for society because it is ‘flesh only’ based.

One never feels fulfilled and therefore feelings of agitation make your brain and body stressed.

You are constantly enslaved to your fleshly desires.

The Fotinopoulos ‘good life’ is interpreted by some male teenagers as a need to stooge as many girls as possible into sex before they become impotent! In many offices, secularised spinsters are intoxicated with the ‘affluenza’ disease.

They either sleep with the married boss to get ahead or they try hard to marry the richest guy possible.

They do this out of fear of not scoring a high enough secular status.

When you feed on Christ your Spirit, mind and body remain fulfilled because humans were designed to ‘not’ live on bread alone.
