Greeks love their flags and never miss a chance on either sporting one or decorating their cars and homes with flags whether it be for a national holiday or a sports championship.

This national holiday celebration was no exception, but one Greek did manage to make a difference decorating his two-storey house not with the standard Greek flag but with 140 square meters of cloth in the colors of the Greek flag.

Giannis Athanasopoulos wrapped his entire house in Greekness causing every person in Nea Kios, Peloponnese to stop and stare.

Speaking to Argonafplia TV, the Peloponnesian Greek admitted that he did want to create a showstopper and make a point.

“The huge flag represents Greeks’ power,” he said, adding that it is also a symbolic move on this day of celebration of Greece’s Independence from the Turks. “It is a protest for the two Greek soldiers in the prison dungeons of crazy Erdogan. We want to show that we are many and ready to jump in if the two kids need us.”

Athanasopoulos continued to say that the flag is also a protest for the Macedonian and the Albanian issues.
